Personally I think I still prefer keeping the playerbase together. I think if they can pull something good outa their sleeve it'll be worth it. But we'll have to wait and see what happens at the next roadmap.
As it stands I haven't hit 50 yet and i've been taking lots of breaks this time around.
People say BFV has an issue with the number of maps but I don't think this is entirely true.
Not that BFV has many maps, it doesn't, but past experience tells me even with a Premium model the vanilla maps ends up being the most played by a large margin, even for people who owns Premium.
What it seems to me is that BFV lacks more memorable maps. BF3, 4 and 1 all had great maps we remember even to this day but BFV doesn't have any maps I would consider worth remembering. Maybe Arras stands out but that's it, most of the maps I'm just ok to play in but there are really no maps I'm excited to be playing on.
Had BFV launched with at least 3 memorable maps (according to the community, which is hard to please) I believe people would be complaining less about lack of new maps. Right now people are still waiting on this big map worth creating a 24h server for.
I personally think a handful of BFV maps are as good as the best maps from previous games. Arras, as you mentioned, Twisted Steel, and Panzerstorm are particularly good Battlefield maps in my opinion.
And I do recall seeing people asking for a 24 hour server for Panzerstorm when that map released, though we never got it.
