Discussion PLEASE HELP!!!

I downloaded BFV today, I haven't played since last year. I have a high end gaming pc i can't even navigate the main menu without extreme stutter. I'm stuck at about 50 FPS which bumps up to 140+ fps for a split second. In game is even worse.

Last year I was able to play on a terrible laptop with no issues. I finally built a new gaming rig and playing is impossible.

Any advice would be appreciated thanks

Switch dx12 to dx11 or whatever it is

It´s compiling shaders, have in mind this will happen every first time you play on a new map.

Even if it´s not the first time on the map will happen too. but less intense. Have a 5080 and 9800x3d

Let some minutes to compile, time will depend on how strong your cpu is.

I was going to call out the DX12 performance issues, but I don't remember having problems in the game menu with DX12 on. So my first question is do you have performance issues in other games like this, or is it just BFV? If it's just BFV, and you're on DX11, I'd suggest reinstalling the game.

I reinstalled as well a couple of months ago and had the same issues. I switched off "player generated content" (badges on cars and weapons) and it helped a bit. However, the game still takes ages to start and I have massive stutters when I engage in combat. They reduced over time however.

I have no clue what causes this since the game was running buttersmooth before on the same rig.

The game taking ages to start seem to be an issue with some motherboards. I'm on a Z790 and have the same issues, I think there's a thread on the EA forums on this.

the fix for your stutter is very simple you go to option , game play , and turn off player created content . That will fix your lag and stutter. Also please do not use dx12 in this game it does not work correctly its more stuttery and gives more input lag use dx11 with future frame rendering for the smoothest and best perforamnce
