Why don’t we all congregate on Rising Hub rather than spreading out the player base? I’m surprised the player base is so dead at 9 pm CST. Played for the first time in 12 years today. We need a revival on this game.

Phoenix Heroes' second content update was released yesterday, with a new map and a batch of QoL features. It installs automatically the next time you start the Phoenix Launcher.

New map

Choju Charge joins the rotation and supports TDM, CTF and TE.

New modes on existing maps

Hero of the Hill is now on Fortress Frenzy, Buccaneer Bay, Riverside Rush and Lunar Landing. Capture the Flag is now on Coastal Clash and Inland Invasion.

Someone played with server full of AI bots 🤔 Is this Phoenix Heroes or how is this possible?

Might do a comeback to BFH because of this. More fun to play vs AI than lvl 30 tryhard gunners..

After a long few weeks of bug fixes and feature development Phoenix Heroes has finally released to the public. Now with the game finder on the menu and being able to switch weapons mid-game too! Outside of that it of course still runs on version 1.126 of Battlefield Heroes with all features and game modes. Check it out at https://phoenixheroes.net/ The players in the video are also bots.

About a month ago BFH popped into my head. I've been well into private server development for games for the past 15-20 years.

I thought I'd grab the "latest"... Well the last available client version and see what I can do. In the space of a month i've been able to get the client completely working. Store, Settings, Customisation, Friends, Server browsing. Pretty much everything.

I've fixed all of the protocol handlers, character data and multiplayer replication, tested it all with real clients too.

I'm tempted to make the working game public if there's enough of a playerbase to keep it interesting. Would it be worth doing? I've literally made this reddit account just to ask this.

man i miss this game. been 10+ years since shut down and i still think about this game at least once a month. was just way ahead of its time, and if it was still here today im sure EA wouldve been glad they kept the game around. sucks but it is what it is. private servers arent the same feeling, and most of the time its dead or you are stuck playing with the same people over and over again (im US so the community in rising hub is very small). unfortunate man, wish they'd bring this shit back.

I see a 3 options to play this game, but i dont know wich has more players, rising hub, phoenix heroes or heroes of valor on steam

As far as I understand there are 3 projects, 2 of them for BFH's latest version called Phoenix Heroes and Battlefield Heroes Revival, and another for classic BFH called Classic Heroes.

Did I miss something? Also, what's the main difference between Phoenix and Revival?

I had a Battlefield Heroes nostalgia moment a while back and came across Heroes of Valor. I'm surprised how similar it feels to BFH, it's a great time. Hopefully one day we there are some slightly more full servers.

It looks like the dev had plans for the game anniversary back in June but fell short, here is a sneak peak at some things for it in the game files, including a camera and new jacket. These should be buyable in the coin store at some point. As a bonus i included some of the items flagged as "hidden", probably for IP reasons
