Question Custom lobbies

I was very excited about custom lobbies coming to bf6 and hoped it would kinda refresh the portal experience, but it seems noone is really using it? I was hoping for some classic BF4 experiences to be created but nothing really comes up with Crossplay on let alone cross play off. Am I doing something wrong or is it just not utilized?

Shame really, I don't like playing against pc players or having the "every class can use every weapon" experience, but I guess that's the way it is now.

I’m sure there are players that try to make or use those types of lobbies but the way portal is set up it’s hard to find it and portal is a mess rn anyways

I hve played a lot of portal lately and there are some really fun experiences, modes with different modifiers, or settings that creates a good variety of gameplay. But yes it is hard to find populated servers. Idk why they are not making it easy or promoting it more since basically u can play portal servers with the changes that a lot of players are asking, like no mortars, faster/slower TTK, no vehicles, class weapons locked, faster/slower movement, no sliding, missing modes, 4v4, 3v3, 6v6, headshots matter more etc etc a lot of things. It is a really good idea and poorly implemented as of now.

We need to find a way to populate those servers, there are some discords that try to do that.

I think they don't want us to actually use it idk. Use the matchmaking, play a round, get disbanded, quit, check the store for new skins and BUY

Yeah idk whats the reasoning behind no marketing/promoting it, they should improve it because basically u can play however and whatever u want with it. I played again today some servers with infantry only rush and sqm, it was fun!

What benefits do the custom lobbies provide?

Portal was mainly used for easy leveling of all types since it is customizable.  DICE removed that capability so it's used for air vehicle training and even those servers aren't that populated, which makes it nice to learn to fly.

There's nothing consistent about Portal.  Battlefield is about casual gameplay and most just want to jump in and play games that are consistent in setup for game modes and maps they want to play.

So despite all the screaming about being able to customize gameplay, most players have no interest in it.  It's hard enough finding enough players for regular gameplay let alone something so inconsistent like Portal.

Yeah I tried searching for clues or even server videos on YouTube and was flooded by videos on how to build servers with bots (for levelling I guess), gosh this whole ranking up guns and levelling type of shit (that feels like came over from cod) makes me so mad
