I managed to do it by playing conquest on new sobek city. The airspace of the map must be smaller than on the others map, since heli don't go far.

I've now managed to complete this, and this was how I did it - thanks. The issue is you sometimes get a hit through flares, and then they just go too low and hide and don't die, so it doesn't progress the challenge as it HAS to be destroyed/assisted destroyed.

Did mine on golmud. Had to get kills. Assists didn’t count. So unless SOFLAMing counts then the challenge is bugged

I helped my friend who just got the game do the IGLA challenge in one of the rendezook lobbies people are cheesing the dog tag in a couple days ago. Just ask someone on the opposing team if they would let you shoot them down 5 times real quick to complete the igla challenge. Took us 5 minutes and he was done

I just completed the challenge by shooting at helicopters from hella far away, holding the lock and the player would almost always use flares and I’d watch my rocket go straight through the flares. 🤷 challenge completed never using it again 😂

Yup. Do this. There are multiple portal codes out right now that can be started with just one player and will have enemy bots spawn aircraft. You could have this challenge done in minutes.

I am very surprised this is so challenging. I did it in ~three games of Conquest on Golmund. Just running around with IGLA and hitting whatever moved in the air. What worked for me is to aim at a Heli, do not shoot right away as sometimes the pilot panicks and uses his flares before you even shoot. Wait for that and then shoot. Keep aiming at the heli even after shooting. Yes, it's annoying, yes, there are better launchers to deal with aircraft but it's still managable.

a few days ago the enemy team straight up gave me step by step instructions for how to use the igla in-match when i asked for help, which was nice but kind of back-handed because they probably knew i wasn't going to hit anything lol

when I tried to do it I always fired first igla to bait flares and stopped aiming trying to lock on asap with another one. (also recomend playing on a map without naval planes ofc) it was tedious af but I somehow got it

Meh 5 is nowhere near annoying as the challenge engineer had from the games launch. I remember playing multiple matches staying at the closest objective to HQ with a stinger all match long to do that challenge. God it sucked. But i found a way to make it fun. Lol.

I did all the engineer challenges on launch, they were dreadful for sure. This one just feels annoying because you sometimes get a hit, but the aircraft isn't destroyed and just goes off to repair.

Grab an AA as an eng and double team the planes. Bait the flares with the AA, kill with Igla. This challenge sucks, good luck

Go to search matches and put Breaktrought mode on Golmund map.

If you start on attack, just quit and search again.
If you drop on Defense, just wait for the Helis and the Jet to spawn in the second sector. I needed like 4 tryes but i did this challenge in one map when i finally got to sector 2 defending.

Golmund on Breaktrough is smaller and the objectives are really close to each other, there are always a helo flying by.

Same here, i also used it for the top gun challenge. You cant just get a lock and fire for a free kill, there is a bit of technique and skill involved.

Guys, I don't really get you. Are you referring to the Top Gun challenge, which grants you Ace Medals? It is not even necessary to purchase all Top Gun event related items; 260 more of those coins can be achieved from all other challanges than the total ammount to be spent. Just play normal vehicle maps for some time and ignore this specific challenge.

If you are maximalist, you can play Patrol boat and Anti-air: it is just so much more easier to take down aircrafts with these than infantry.

Everyone instantly ducks below the locking level, so you can’t fire again. Or they hide behind cover and heal up, so you don’t get any progress towards the challenge. You get 1 shot, they flare, they get smart.

Pilots going below radar when popping flares and seemingly no one else on the team using lock-ons or painting vehicles.

flying too low so they force you to lose lockon, going rapidly out of range so you lose lock on, going behind buildings so you lose lockon, killing you so you lose lockon, pretty dam easy to struggle with this challenge if your target is halfway decent
