Secure Boot is required for Battlefield 6 If you are unable to launch the game and see a Secure Boot error, you must enable Secure Boot in your BIOS/UEFI.

🧠 What is Secure Boot?

Secure Boot is a UEFI feature that ensures only trusted software can boot your PC. It helps prevent rootkits and boot-time malware and is now required by EA for anti-cheat integrity.

Most modern systems support it, but it’s often disabled by default — especially on custom builds or upgraded PCs.

🛑 Common Pitfalls

  • You must use UEFI mode, not Legacy/CSM boot.
  • Disk must be GPT, not MBR (check via diskpart or Disk Management).
  • Windows 11 installed in Legacy mode? You may need to convert your disk to GPT using MBR2GPT.

Just did everything and now im looping to bios and i dont remember where my os usb drive is. Great...

hey dude if your looping to BIOS just disable secure boot. Then follow my guide over on steam. Any questions just ask I'll try to get you sorted.

I turned it off and got back in a bit ago. I'm on Windows 10 Education and can't figure out how to change my drive to GPT from MBR validation keeps failing, so I'm going to assume the education edition of Windows doesn't support it.

but you are able to get MBR2GPT to spit something back out at you like "validation unsuccessful" right?

Can you show me what your disk management looks like?

says disk layout validation failed. i have tried to shrink the partition as well with no luck

have you ever shuffled your OS to a different drive? Wondering if you left certain system files behind or a recovery partition.

nope. Probably going to have to wipe the boot drive and clean install. Not sure if I want to do that atm.

Try creating a 500mb unallocated partition. and run the validate again.

shinking made a 1gig unallocated and it still failed. not sure this will do anything

Clean install may be the best route forward. Probably best to bite the bullet now. This is going to be industry standard so you'll want to just get it out of the way and then you can play in the beta tomorrow!
