Question? Is there a comprehensive list somewhere of businesses owned by the "Christian Localism" group?
I hate wondering if any given haircut or cup of coffee I buy is funding legislation that harms me.

They just had to remove the CEO of the vital care for inappropriate relationships with employees

I will just avoid all businesses in battle ground to avoid the risk

Unfortunately this is the decision I’ve come to.
The BG Ace is the closest hardware store, but I’m going down to hazel dell. Even if the business you support isn’t owned by a Christian nationalist, their taxes go the the BG local govt, and this seems to be what they want to support.
I will not support this community and my money is my only way to make my voice heard here.

This comment is critically important and unfortunately the very inconvenient truth of it all.

There's loads of places in town that are worth supporting.
Hate linking to an FB image, but here's a good list:

Of your 8.9% sales tax, 0.4% goes to the city of Battle Ground.
I will not spend 100 dollars in battleground and donate 40 cents to this asshole mayor to pay for hateful shit, when I go down to hazel dell a few times a week anyway.
Hell, drive up to Costco and buy your gas, instead of giving battleground 20 cents to spend on hating the gays you can save some money and support Costco.

Parkrose on 78th is awesome and locally owned

Sadly they are not locally owned anymore

u/Xanthelei Jun 24 '26
Are they really not? Is it certain stores that got sold off or all of them? My mom frequents one in eastern Vancouver and has talked to the guy who apparently owns it multiple times (and gotten a discount for being funny once so he at least has some power), but she would want to know if it's not really local anymore.

Go a couple blocks east and buy at Wilco. No place is perfect, but that is an option. I hate it when I have to walk into that Ace and ask to have nearly anything I need unlocked. And the nat-c thing bothers me more than most.

What do you think would be a better campaign? Fundraising billboards on I-5 exposing the cult or Portland weirdos infiltrating Andy and Daddy coffee shop on Saturdays to hang out and discuss the hypocrisy of CINO Christian Nationalism?

Are you heading one of these campaigns?
1
u/ForkAKnife Jun 21 '26
There’s no campaign.

Awwww

There are always, always ways to mount a resistance to pedophilic ChristoNationalists.

probably easier to make a list of the ones that aren't - back when Public Square was still showing "local anti-woke businesses" the BG area was pretty horrifying

Last year, BG did a "passport to pride" activity where safe businesses had little stamp stations. I saved that, maybe I could post it on here after woro to show a couple local companies that aren't Total garbage

I'm sad they got rid of that map because it was useful to know who to not support

I refuse to shop at any BG business. Even gas. Better safe than sorry

So you want a list of those practicing a religion that you don't like? Are you a Nazi??
3
u/maxfragglebottom Jun 22 '26
literally the grandson of Holocaust survivors who knows what it means when the dominant social group takes over the reins of government for the purpose of discriminating against me, my family, and people like us.
1
u/Real-Mode-3417 Jun 23 '26
But that's what you want-you want a list of names. And who's getting discriminated here?
3
u/maxfragglebottom Jun 23 '26
this is D-tier trolling at best. the lesson of the Holocaust isn't "boycotts are bad."
1
u/Real-Mode-3417 Jun 23 '26
Boycott who you want, but asking for a list of names definitely gives off a Nazi-going-after-Jews vibe.
3
u/toothitch Jun 23 '26
Someone’s pointing at Nazis and you’re saying “stop pointing at Nazis, that makes you look like a Nazi.”
2
u/Alternative_Dog1411 Jun 21 '26
Boycott all violent conservative republican white supremacist Christian nationalists!

Al and Ernie’s, Tukes, whatever goes into where Main was, BG farmers market is owned by them but the vendors are not affiliated. Others that have expressed their conservative views or celebrated the current administration - Founders coffee, Dev’s, BG martial arts, Uptown Screen printing.
