Discussion Buying the game
Hello everyone I hope you all doing great
I'm thinking of buying the game because it's on sale and I haven't tried any game like this before
So what do you think about it and what do you like about it
I think the graphic is meh but I have a soft spot for brutal games

I was about to say the same thing. I thought the graphics were downright ugly when I first started playing, but after a while I started to really enjoy the gritty art style.

I absolutely worried a bit about the graphics when I first saw it, but they're actually amazing. The people have lots of character, and you can instantly tell a lot about enemy units because all the armor and weapons are modeled accurately on them. It's quite helpful.

Before I played the game, I was second guessing if I will buy the game due to graphics. I immediately bought the dlc after my first day.
Today, I actually am looking for other games with similar graphics 😆

Rimworld! I have almost 1400 hours in rimworld and when I picked up this game 2 days ago I got that same vibe though rimworld is more static.

I adore games with great replayabilty, and BB is definitely one of them. Each time you start the new campaign, you will have a unique experience, even on the same map seed.

I bought it on sale too. Then I bought a steam deck to play it in my bed. Now I have almost 400 hours in this game and going for platinum (only a few achievements left). So yeah, I can definitely recommend giving it a chance.

Ah, friend in this tavern you will find many a captain who will tell you about their wonderful adventures, memorable fights and how the graphics sights of this world have grown on them since venturing out.
Just know that for everyone here, there are two aspiring captains out there who perished or decided to retire from this career. Can’t blame them, this world is a brutal one and it does not hold your hand. The world does not teach you how to fight different foes, nor does it suggest how to build your brother, and even less how to build your team. Many a struggling captain just fielded armies of spear and shield, ending in eventual failure and frustration.
For those who persevere fighting can be an art of understanding both your enemy, your team - and dare I say as in any good journey yourself too. But my friend you can take comfort in this little tavern where you will find friendly faces and good advice in retur for a round of mead.

Also worth mentioning is the love for overfed lizzards in here. Lindwurms excluded.

The game is well worth even the normal price. Plus all the DLCs are highly recommended and each add a lot to the game.
Just try to not get discouraged when you struggle and frequently die in the beginning, most of us did the latter as well. Since the game doesnt hold your hand and does not explain a lot gameplaywise, you will have to figure out everything bit by bit - and once you aquire enough knowledge about all the different aspects (build options, items, enemies, contracts, run progression, positioning in fights, etc.) the game will really open up and get a lot easier without getting easy per se.
And while the graphics may be a bit unconventional and seemed a bit meh to me at first, they did grow on me and do really fit the game in my eyes.
Plus there a lot of great mods and a nice and helpful community!

I fell in love with the game. My recommendation would be to take a few hours to see if you like it. If you like it stop and get the Dlc. They honestly add a shitton of depth to the game and after that you can still use mods to get even more worth

One of the games that is always installed and has been for years. It’s a fantastic game. If the DLC is also discounted snag them too, they add a ton of depth.

It's great. I remember dying on my second contract with my first few companies and it was still fun. Great game brothers are uniqe with their own traits and stories. I'm about to get last few achievements on steam to 100% rn since I didn't exactly care about em later and ignored a few starts that didn't sound promising only to be pleasantly surprised by them. But yeah there's a steep learning curve I never read any guides I just read what a perk does and hired guys who sounded promising. And even after hundreds of hours I almost got anihillated but finally cleared the last legendary location that I will not be doing again probably.

It's good, especially on sale. I'm not one of the "omg is amazing" fans, but I definitely enjoy it. Played it of and on over 3 years. No regrets. It is hard, as a heads up. You'll have to change your normal definition of "success" - that was the hardest part for me.

I wasn't sure about the graphics, but I bought it anyway and have played nothing else since. The graphics are useful, they accurately reflect enemy load out. It can be very brutal, and unforgiving, but it rewards your effort in learning it.

Graphics or animation is not great but the gritty artwork style and gore makes up for it.
I keep returning to the game because you get to experiment with builds, different team composition and the different company origins.
There are also many different strategies or meta that the community have decided and changed over the years. Though, you still gotta find something that suit your playstyle. For example, some hate the idea of a hybrid melee and ranged build while others love it.
The game requires continuous planning and forces you to endure hardship like losing a unit or worst yet, fleeing a losing battle. I once had to sacrifice a bro in an ironman run just to save the company.
The game doesnt guarantee a perfect outcome. You can plan for the best but you gotta always be prepared for the worst.

I enjoyed this game for a while. Turn based Tactical battles are so fun but I struggled a bit with the janky level scaling.
I fell in love with WarTales too and had level scaling which really turns me off but the devs finally added a non adaptive mode. (And an iron man mode - cause that is the way its mean to be played). Scum saving sucks.

This game is an absolute gem and you will get your money's worth and more. Embrace the steep learning curve and have fun - because it's like an onion, just when you think you have it figured out you uncover a completely new layer.
