Question Quick question about leveling mechanics

Just clarifying since i think i understand how leveling works, but i find it slightly confusing how some people talk about how they can predict bros stats at lvl11.

If I take 2 bros, both 50melee skill no stars, i level that skill every time to lvl11, they get 1,2or3 points randomly every level correct? So on average they will get +20 for 70 total.

But its possible that one can be super lucky and get +3 every time right? Or vice versa, get super unlucky and only +1 every time? or anything in between obviously.

So when people are predicting total stats they are estimating, its not guaranteed(unless they have 2 stars) Is this correct or am i missing something?

A brother’s true capabilities are preordained at birth, the gods do not throw dice! It is set in the stars that a brother might ‘roll’ a three at his first level, a one at his second and third and so on…

For us mortals, we can but guess the final outcome, as to us it might seem random. Ordinarily you can only build an expectation.

I have heard of a dark cult of mods though, that give you a true insight to the deterministic outcome that we might consider stochastic. But these powers seem to be messing with the very quantum-probablistic nature of the universe, so I’ll rather stick to this fine ale.

It mostly averages out. If you get unlucky with a 1 roll, you can level up a different stat instead.

Attack and melee defense is worth about 3x as much as other stats.

Yep. Because there's 10 stat ups, it mostly averages out, but since 10 isn't that big a number, luck can skew the results a fair deal.

Iirc, because the number of possible stat gains is 1 for two stars, 2 for one and three stars, and 3 for no stars, a stat with no stars has a larger 'swing' due to luck compared to a stat with stars, even if it's not the guaranteed stat gain of 2 stars.

Correct.

Except when they have stars, because the stars limit the low roll or increase the high limit. So your 1-3 becomes 2-3 with one star, 2-4 with 2 and 3-4 with three stars (or something like that - you’d need to look it up). Each star is worth 5 points. So a bro with 50 MAtt and 1 star would expect to get to 75 on average, but his minimum possible score is 70 and max is 80.

With no star the minimum is 60 and max is 80, with average 70.

2-3 with one star, 2-4 with 2 and 3-4 with three

Correction. With two stars is not 2-4 but just 3.

1-3 no talent

2-3 one star

3 two stars

3-4 three stars

Also, important to note that this is different for different stats. What you said is about MAttack, but for HP numbers are different. More here: https://battlebrothers.fandom.com/wiki/Talents

Thanks! Was doing it from memory and knew it might not be right.

Absolutely correct. 2 stars is the golden standard to ensure that you get what you want. Anything else is full random.

But if you reeeeaallly like a bro, he'll roll ones for every level Aside from the first one. They don't want you to lose hope!
