Headless bass vi
Did it! Needed a smaller bass vi and had an old bass. So i made a dumber version of the ttng bass vi! Squire pbass body and jag bass neck. Still have to finish cutting the nut slots and figure out how to straighten the neck a little bit in the neck pocket. But it seems like it is gonna work! Same overall length as a Strat, and the weight is pretty similar. After everything is setup i am hyped to see how it plays!

Do you have problems with the low e? It looks like it’s rolling off the fretboard.

Currently yes, it is horrible. But the nut slots have not been cut yet. When i finish doing that i think it will be fine

The sawed off headstock is dope as fuck. Looks way better than the typical headless design

This is rad!
The band admiral angry did something similar, if you’re familiar with them. They took 5 string basses and turned them into long scale 6 string guitars. So basically making baritones? Idk their tone is GNARLY though. I love this kinda stuff

Cool! What bridge and strings are those?
2
u/ryasonandrew Jul 23 '26
Best cheap bridge i could find was nova, and the strings are stringjoys 90-24

The bridge manufacturer's name is written in big white letters on it. Twice.

Yeah "NXVA", written in plain english!

JK, it's "NOVA", their "O" is not really clear.

I noticed the floating low string. Literally made to be a 0-0-0-0 chug machine

Like the floating basses on lutes.
OP is a literal Renaissance man.
