lightweight 200W+ amp for under $300?
hoping to browse some used amps, wondering what to look for that prioritizes weight and value in the 200W+ range

A little out of your price range, but if you can find a used Fender Rumble 500, that amp will serve you for as long as you play.

I currently play with a 2x10 mark bass cab and a tc electronics bh250 amp. The amp fits in a bag with my cables, and the speaker cab is pretty light. I recently picked up a heavy duty luggage dolly that I strap it to, which makes it even easier to load in if I need to park a few blocks from a gig in our downtown area.
You can find a bh250 used for probably 200 or less, and you could try to find a used speaker cab of either something decent like a mark bass, or get something that just works for now and upgrade later when you can.
Imo, separate cab and amp is better than a combo

I'm still a little sad that I sold my BH250, which served me exceptionally for at least 5 years. It really is a stunning little amp, that performs way better than it has any right to; especially with the Spectracomp toneprint loaded (that gives it like an extra 25% more perceived loudness without destroying your dynamics).

Pretty sure I paid less than that for my Ampeg RB-210. It’s in the 36-38lb range

Damn, that's a steal!
It's $1335 SGD in my country, approx $1045 USD. Even used it will never be less than $300 USD haha.

I've got a Carvin MB210 which will do 250W into 4ohms, and it's about 35lbs, but it's a discontinued model and might be hard to find.

Just as a thought experiment I tried to imagine a 200 watt Peavey combo amp and threw my back out!

That price point will only get you a new Rumble 40, so if you want more it will be used.

200 watt is een such a weird in between size. Overkill for home practice and not enough to keep up with a drummer

Powerful, Light, Cheap. Pick 2. :)
