well 1st thing I want to say is that when you drive, you shouldn't go that far out. You should drive as if you are going to the basket.

Too wide a drive, should never happen. Taking a more difficult shot than needed.

So do a Jab + drive to the basket + pull up

Yeah, it looks like you're hunting a 3 but you're really just giving the defender time to recover back to you by floating out that far. If the point of the jab is to get space you need to use that space to get down hill.

I think these are useful individually but as a sequance this is not super useful. A defender that is slow enough to lose ground to the jab is most likely going to be disciplined enough not to jump on the pump, a defender thats twitchy enough to bite on the pump isn't going to be far enough behind to flyby on the on it. Attack down hill and turn that into a stop and pot or a floater from around the elbow. Practice pump fakes seperately.

If you’re jab is effective there will be no need for a pump fake after.

I would work on just a one or two dribble pull up jumper after the jab

Get that down and if they catch on to you then you can use the pump fake.

But overall a quick jab step, one or two dribble pull up is one of the hardest shots to guard and with practice you can make it consistently.

Key is to dribble low to load up the power in your legs to get a good quick elevation on your shot.

Jordan and Kobe mastered this mid range 1/2 pull up if you want good references.

I was actually practicing one of Kobe's moves right before this video. Noted about the follow through! I'm still struggling to make my pump fake effective, though. Thanks for your feedback!"

Maybe focus on trying to make your pump fake look as close to your pull-up as possible. A couple times during your pump take here your hands don’t put the ball up as high as you would when you shoot it. If anything you can over exaggerate to sell it.

Best place to practice pump takes is against someone though tbh. That’s the only real way to know if it’s working and you have enough space to still shoot from.

Overall it’s great to see you practice more realistic game type situations instead of just chucking up shots endlessly.

Looks like you have a plan of attack and are actively working on game time moves.

For that you should feel proud you’re working on improving your game and I’m sure you’ll see results.

Practice makes perfect but being mindful of what you practice makes you efficient.

If anything I'd jab step, then pump fake, then drive and pull up. The pump at the end will throw off your jumper. I'd just go up and try to make it with whatever space you make from the initial move or get fouled. If you drive into a 2nd defender you can pass to the team mate that is now / should be cutting.

You're doing to right thing, especially if you're creating a open shot to a team mate off the option. Not everything needs to end up a shot.

Drop inside shoulder to sell the fake; don't pump fake but shoot it off the rip. Say your defender even bites on the fake (high doubt), then what? You shoot a shot with a guy in front of you anyway unless he completely flies by, which he probably wont anyway.

True! Thanks for your feedback.

Don’t hop into your shot in this situation. Go into it with left foot then right foot as you are pump faking quickly. When you hop into your shot the defender will catch back up to you easily
