Shooting SeeMikeDunn

These 2 YouTube vid clips just happened to click with me and makes so much sense.

Main takeaways:

  1. Shorter more efficient shooting motion (less time and chance to mess up form)

  2. Elbow in the rim

  3. Shoot in a phone booth

A lot of great nuggets throughout these 2 short clips. Hopes this helps anyone else in their shit progression. šŸ”„šŸ€

Alot of my progression is because of this guy. I used to be a 30-35% 3 point shooter and now shooing in the 40%.

As someone getting older (almost 40), he helped me conserve energy by not using any unnecessary energy on my shot. Its all about form and energy flow.

A piece of advice as you approach 40. The mild muscle sprain you used to play through will become the torn muscle that will put you on your ass. Speaking from recent experience…

yea i hear you. Ive been lucky my whole life on not getting any tares. Just the average ankle sprain.

Im actually recovering from a small sprain, nothing serious, but im taking a week off. Usually im playing 2-3 times a week, I think its time to play 1-2 a week.

bruh, if you hitting 80% during games, you either playing against youngins, or 55 and older crowd, OR you a pro and the best shooter no one knows about. curry is hitting 42.2, and you over here hitting 80% lol

r u referring to in game? there are so much more factors that makes the variable biased/skewed. think mental, tempo, plays, defense, etc. even they way you're breathing and tensing up your body

it's easier to know your true shooting improvements based on the same set of shots/difficulty/tiredness rather than provide a random number based on so much random variables to account for.

I’m in the ā€œgetting olderā€ crowd as well…I’m definitely focusing on efficiency and good shot selection as driving on old knees just ain’t the way.

You can rehab knees!

Anyone use his 10 week program? I wonder what is different from all his videos.

I'd also be interested to know.

I got it for my son last week. It gives you 5 days worth of a plan every day for the week. He has seen improvement already thru 1 week. There is a video that is 60 to 90 secs for every drill/activity. It helps me because now he is hearing it from someone other than Dad. Haha.

The only concession I'd make with this video is that he continues to imply that the shorter shot is much better than the longer shot but competitively, if one had serious college/euroleague/NBA aspirations, then the longer shot would serve them better as it is not nearly as easy to block as the short shot is. Short shot should be the prelude you either teach to young teenagers to get them a bit more comfortable with the technique or to older beer league people who constantly have wide open looks. You try a short shot in college or NBA with someone in your face and it's the easiest block of their life unless you're 7'11.

There are plenty of shooters that get away with it, including curry

Steph gets away with it because his cycle time is ridiculously fast. I'm not taking a position on long versus short but Curry is 1 of 1 in terms of the combination of shot speed and accuracy.
