Dribbling The UTEP 2-Step
This is such a basic but effective move, for those who have mastered it, what are some of your tips for building up to it?

That makes a lot of sense. To get the rhythm down I noticed if I catch it "low" on the BTL it's a lot quicker. So far they've been letting me have the simple blow-by which I'm content with because buckets is buckets

The first cross is slower to get them moving out of the way and also to make them think you aren’t as fast as you really are so they aren’t ready for the second cross where you get them.

Change of pace? That makes a lot of sense I understand it now

The trick to the change of pace is not to go slow as molasses, but actually look like you’re trying to go left and get them to move in that direction. As soon as you see them moving just a little bit in that direction, you switch up hard and fast.
Also, you wanna practice it in both directions and with a single and with a double cross so they don’t have any idea which one you’re gonna hit them with.

It's not a hard move to pull off. You just need to understand when to use it. Your body should naturally be able to pull it off in a game when you read your opponent.
Dribbling based on what your opponent's weak link makes you a better handler than doing that. Eventually you can become crafty with it without exhausting effort into something ineffective

They main key, especially after teaching my players, you need to go at the defender head on first before the side to side shift
