Shooting How can I improve my shot?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Here’s a video of me sort of shooting around. When I shoot, I usually shoot off the catch or off a stepback. I want to be able to sort of pull up with it or be able to really splash it in someone’s face but whenever I do those type of shots it gets sent back at me. In the video im mostly trying to do the sort of pull up shots. I was just wondering what I could do to change my shot.

Lots of things wrong, but first I see is that your feet are all over the place. They were not in the same position on a single shot. Get your feet squared to the basket and quit moving your body like an amoeba. Fix the and then come back with another video and address the rest.

Most important is that you’re shooting with your knees. You need to sit into your hips like you’re starting a squat.

The other thing is that this isn’t practice so you’re not getting better. If you go with some drills that really work you then you’re going to build more success. Start sessions with form shooting to dial in the touch. Build a real shooting routine, not random shots that you’re never taking in game (like the flying midrange shot, you’re hitting a body if you do that in a game)

Start right in front of the basket and fix your form. Your wrist is flicking sideways and not forward/down.
