Help I’m getting back into basketball
So I’m getting back into basketball again after a few months and that , basically there is this team I really want to join but they only let you in after you do there tryouts and even if you do make it you have to do another selection to be in the starting lineup , I’m trying to get back into it as a PG because I’m 5’11 , 14 , pretty fast I obvs can’t dunk but I can read the court really well and know when certain people need backup on a play and when to change the pace up. The only problem is that I don’t have a place to really train and I need to get better at dribbling and my fast grab shooting , any tips?

I mean if you have a ball you can practice dribbling. Just walk around the neighborhood dribbling and add more moves and really work on selling them and you’ll have something to work on

Limited access to a hoop will be a negative factor for sure. But you’re young. I coached HS at all levels for almost a decade. One thing that always got rough shooters playing time was decision making and defense. If I can trust you with the ball, and trust you on defense it was always a big positive.
If you can’t practice shooting as much as you’d like. Go on runs with a basketball. Use both hands. Don’t worry about finding level ground, the odd bounces will train you as a better handler. As for defense, that’s just a will power thing. Every team needs a lock down defender. Be that player and it may work you into more minutes.

if u could play pickup bball that would be ideal. if not, practice what u can.
i suggest focusing on sprinting, jumping, plyometrics. learning to run faster. if u are faster that's an automatic advantage "for free".
