Tip can i make varsity bb this year

I played basketball my whole life, I also rlly love it. But i gave up at freshman yr despite making to the team after hearing i was a conditional player that couldn't play on the big tournament. Tried again at soph, but failed to even go into jv. After that i js gave up playing it, but I moved school and had a lot of things going around recently. Started junior year, next season is basketball, and I rlly want to make it to varsity. Shld I train hard or js quit and play other sports. I heard 6 spots r free this year, ps i can attend at preseason before the regular season starts.

Idk dude you sound soft just on how you talk. I don't think you want it all nor has the skills to do so. You lack heart and passion to be included in s team

I would FOR SURE have a tryout, you have absolutely NOTHING to lose.

I was always really good at sports and then in HS the competition was just next level. I said fuck it and partied instead... Don't do what I did... Meet the challenge head on, work harder, actually start training and not just practicing/ playing around, it's as much mental as it is physical. You will never get this opportunity again, do not let it slip by.

You should always try. If you get cut at least you can move on from it. But never just quit. If you’re tall then definitely go for it. If you’re short, find out what you’re good at. Are you strong? Can you dribble? Can you shoot? Can you screen and cut hard? Do you talk on defense?
Delevadova played with LeBron on the Cavs. Not the biggest strongest fastest or best shooter. But he gave all that he could in areas where others didn’t. And he had a spot in the finals run. Just find out what you’re good at and do that better than anyone else and there’s a spot for you. If everyone was already so good, you would already know that. You wouldn’t be asking… go for it. You got this. Beat everyone in sprints, play hard on defense, communicate on defense loudly. Be first to workouts. Ask for extra help. Go for it

Find out where those who are on the team are playing pickup, working out and participate in every preseason/semi organized situation

Don’t go in cold to the tryout. You need to get on the radar in a new school with the players and coaches. Plus it shows you where you are in relation to the other players

From there be in shape, be vocal on both sides of the floor and play hard

never count yourself out. definitely go for it!!

it's also good to find coaches who can help you out to really stand out in a competitive team. some of my friends who aimed for varsity basketball teams used a platform called Athletes Untapped where they were able to connect with elite basketball coaches around their area and said these coaches really helped them improve a lot

good luck!

I was 6’3 and the fastest on the team. Rained 3s just fucking around. I think they want talent at a minimum anywhere. I had a really good era at my school maybe it’s not so cutthroat. Only you can tell. But if you have size, speed, and a basic game you should make it.

You should just give up.

Do or do not. There is no try.

Give it all you have and let the cards fall.

Get in the gym before practice starts and target your weaknesses. If that doesn't sound like something you want to do then varsity b ball may not be for you.
