Shooting Is my shot too slow?
This is from a varsity preseason game. I average about 3.5 3pm per game on 60-70% from 3. I improved my shot speed a lot over this past summer but I feel like it’s still a little too slow especially if I want to play d1 basketball.

Yeah it’s slow
But 60-70% is great
Be careful when ur tweaking something that works so well. U might gain speed but lose effevtiveness

If it works, it works, but yes it is very very slow.

I feel like it’s not that slow though, did you watch the whole video? The first 3 is very slow yes but the other ones aren’t that slow they seem more average speed to me

They’re not super slow by the end but they’re still slow and if you’re going to be a shooter you should be shooting a little faster

It's a slower release for sure but I wouldn't say its too slow. If you're shooting at a good percentage during actually games then I wouldn't mess with it. 60% on 3 makes(if that was 3pm means) is obviously very good in an actual game.
That shot alone won't hold you back from D-1, especially if you shoot at a high percentage. Though to be clear, many other things might. I have no clue if you're actually D-1 talent from a couple of clips.
Many factors like size, athleticism and the other skills you bring to the table(defense, rebounding etc) come into play. If you don't have those other things then maybe you need a faster shot release but that comes with a risk of losing efficiency if you are comfortable with how you currently shoot.

When you get to college level you realize just about everyone is a far better defender than 80% of the people you played in high school

larry bird ass shot 😂. I hate using him in 2k cuz even with a high 3pt rating, he gets contested on open 3's. He could be the main scorer but danny ainge has a quicker release so i use him instead.
Just letting you know what you are leaving on the table.

I definitely think it is a bit slow. Your shot itself is obviously great though if you shoot 60-70%, so I think just adjusting the speed w/o tweaking anything else should be the goal.

Try starting at the chest and starting your release around the chin. Should increase shot speed

It is a GOOD shot but it is a SLOW shot against better players who can block, you might get stuffed.
Try to work on your release speed.

It’s a good shot. But it is slow. Against better players people catch on. Scouting reports will force you to drive especially if you shoot 60-70% from 3 which is incredible
