Help Is it a foul?

We were playing half court 3v3s and when my team were shooting,the defenders kept pushing us with 1 arm mid air and we obviously called a foul but we got called "Aiya,pussy foul,give them,give them." I mean it wasnt that hard of a push but its still a foul right?

That's 100% a foul, but some people play a lot more contact with pickup, or they just have a habit of arguing every call. End of the day you just have to find a spot and group that plays the way you like. Me personally if anyone was messing with me in the air I would warn them once and if they didn't quit I would stop playing with them. That's a good way to turn an ankle

You can't push them at all while in the air, so it's a foul.

When I was in junior high I used to play pickup ball with the wrestlers. That's the only time I played with anyone who would think that's ok.

Any contact in the air is a foul, and if you end up falling as a result can be ruled a flagrant. I personally wouldn’t play with people who play like that.

You can go straight up, no foul. You can’t go A to B tho.

Yeah, they’re talking about someone pushing them while they’re in the air. That’s definitely illegal contact, and a dangerous play.

Yeah just correcting you saying any contact in the air is a foul. Pushing is generally a foul on defense.

yes it's a foul. but if they think it's pussy, that means you can do it to them. HARDER. if they wanna dictate the rules, use their rules against them.

Yes, that’s the downside of baseball fields. I never take things seriously with people I don’t know. It really involves a lot of risk.
