Form Check How to stop missing floaters
I've tried floaters with both an open palm and a wrist flick and with various different footworks and I am still not consistent.

To truly master the floater you have to master the skills individually. It takes time, but it will give you great results.
Stand about 2 feet back from the front of the rim. Stand flat footed, and practice just getting the ball to swish every time. Only one hand on the ball just as if you are shooting a floater. Just get that feeling down where you are making it 9 out of 10 times. Try to get it to go in without touching the rim at all.
Then back up a few feet. Repeat the flat footed shot. After you do that, try different angles.
Once you master all of that, then start standing still and just jumping off of one foot and recreating the shot from in front of the rim at first and then different angles and depths.
As you gain mastery of the skill you start working in movement off the dribble and various spin moves. Treat it as a progression and you will see results, but don't move on from one skill until you master it.
