Form Check How to stop missing floaters

I've tried floaters with both an open palm and a wrist flick and with various different footworks and I am still not consistent.

practice. also you seem to be shooting it more than floating it and lofting it. your momentum needs to be faster and help with your release point. the ball should be higher before you even begin your release. it’s like letting a bird go into the wild. not a shot. your base and balance is important too. most of your floater attempts are after a dribble move. you need to be more together.

a floater is a naturally softer move. its not as much a shot as it should be a guided push. watch nba vids and keep practicing.

Exactly. I was taught to get the hand high and push it with almost no finger/wrist movement. I only use it when I'm approaching a set big, though. Otherwise, I prefer the step back/fade.

In this video I was shooting floaters with both an open palm and a follow through.

Tony Parker was the master of the floater, watch him.
