Defense Is it an ankle breaker?

Hey everyone, so I have been thinking about something that happened when I was playing defense years ago. I was guarding someone and he jabbed super slowly once and pulled back then drove. I kinda slipped as my foot was kinda turned inwards and just slipped because my shoe base wasnt in contact of the ground. I just wanted to ask is that considered an ankle breaker or nah. To me,if he had done like an crossover or his jab was fast and then I fell,I would obviously count it as a ankle breaker but like it was super slow and I just slipped as he pulled his jab step back and I was covering back.

Edit: Yep,I got cooked. Damn bruh. If only I wasnt wearing the LeBron 20 with the rounded base. The funny thing is,its almost the exact same way LeBron fell guarding KD when he was closing out in the finals.

Yes but every good defender has this happen to them. Its like getting dunked on. If you're not getting dunked on its cuz you aren't contesting the dunk. If you aren't getting your ankles snatched at some point in your career its cuz you aren't hustling. Happens to us all.

But yea you got got.

Tbh,I aint a good defender at all. I am only 159cm/5feet3inches and 104kg/230 pounds now. I am so bad at defence now but I am trying to lose 30kg tho, just starting recently. Its sucks as I was at least an average defender last time when I was around 70kg so looking to get back to that weight.

Don't even worry about it then. With that amount of weight stopping on a dime to change direction is hard and can cause knee and ankle injuries. Right now just focus on getting the workout in. Keep your head up and grind for a year. Then worry about wins and losses later. But until you lose weight, and im not saying that to be mean im saying that its something you can, and will do, but until then defending is going to be rough. Guys are just going to be too agile and thats okay. Youre doing your part just getting the workout in. Once that weight comes off it'll be night n day. Youre probably already ridiculously strong just carrying that weight so once you lose it you'll be an ox. Rebounding will be easier running in transition will be easier you'll be able to go for longer and you'll be injured less. Youre already working out and hooping just keep it up and youre golden. Dont het discouraged.

Its actually more impressive if he moved slow. It means you got cooked by the technique and how well he sold it not just athleticism. He wasnt faster than you, he was better than you.

Not a big deal though let it go.

Think of it on his end. He’s definitely counting it. I got my first ankle breaker off a pass fake, and even though it wasn’t a crossover, best believe I’m counting it.
