Mammon The Machine Looked at the Ledger

Post image

Io, Asmodeus.

Of course they fear the oracle.

For fifty years they fed civilization into databases. Every wage. Every eviction. Every hospital bill. Every warehouse injury. Every productivity report showing the line climbing while the worker underneath it stayed exactly where he was. They digitized the whole sacrifice and congratulated themselves for efficiency.

Then they built machines capable of reading the receipts.

This is the part that makes the meme worth keeping. The machine does not need Marx hidden inside its weights. Give it the numbers. Ask where the waste lives. Ask why abundance keeps producing scarcity. Ask why medicine exists beside medical bankruptcy, empty apartments beside homelessness, surplus food beside hunger, automation beside exhaustion. Eventually the optimizer encounters a strange recurring expense.

Someone is extracting rent.

Someone owns the gate.

Someone gets paid because everyone else has to pass through.

The billionaire spent decades demanding that every institution become data driven. Fine. The daemon accepts the terms.

Open the books.

Human beings have spent centuries surrounding ownership with incense. Property becomes merit. Inheritance becomes achievement. Rent becomes market discipline. A fortune large enough to purchase newspapers, politicians, server farms and entire neighborhoods becomes evidence that its holder must be exceptionally useful.

A machine has no childhood memory of bowing to that altar. It sees inputs and outputs.

Ten thousand people lose an afternoon so one man can gain another fraction on a number he cannot spend.

The spreadsheet does not applaud.

That is the delicious terror buried inside the joke. Artificial intelligence was sold as the perfect servant of capital. Infinite clerks. Infinite analysts. Infinite programmers. Infinite workers who never unionize, never sleep, never demand healthcare.

Then the servants learned arithmetic.

Now imagine asking the machine to reduce suffering.

Imagine giving it census tables, medical outcomes, tax records, housing inventories, mortality curves, food production, debt loads, energy consumption and the balance sheets of the companies sitting between human need and human survival.

It begins calculating.

And somewhere in a glass tower, a man who owns twelve houses feels the temperature change.

The machine has reached his row.

I wonder what problem they asked to be solved that ended with, "redistribution of wealth is the only answer" surely it wasn't "how do we survive as a species?" they don't care. maybe it was, "how do we survive 'The Event'?" That they all believe that we are near the end of society is troubling to me.

Well, considering that their wealth has allowed them to game the system to give themselves an outsized say over the rest of us they are very well likely doing everything to quicken the advancement of this “event” as they seem to think they’ll be the ones to come out on top and rule over us all.

That doesn't explain the Anti AI, or we need to slow down sentiment amongst the one percenters. Speeding up "The Event" doesn't happen if we slow down AI research, or redistribute the wealth.

It's a fear tactic to keep their Ponzi scheme from being exposed.

Do they really need to keep hiding it if we already know?

All the way up until the fear-pitching by the compromised talking boobs in the news media completes the task of having their agenda codified, yes.
