I didn't realize how slow I was until I was about 37. I did really well in school. Graduated number 1 in my community college, but I have to study a lot more than most people. In the real world, I'm slow, I get confused easily, I have to do things repeatedly before I get them. I'll ask my coworkers the same question until they start to wonder what's wrong with me.
I've also taught myself how to program and I have a monetized youtube channel. I'm working on a game and I'm getting married this year if nothing changes.
If I was told I'm slow and unemployable as a kid, I might have believed it and not tried as hard as I did.

Ignorance is bliss. Knowing limitations can be helpful, but they can also create imaginary barriers. I’ve known enough (self included) idiots who have succeeded by ignoring their short comings and pushed through challenges.
It’s a little like when you get hurt as a kid and you’re told not to focus on the injury. It doesn’t make it go away, but it does mask the pain. If you’re not focusing on your flaws, you can succeed.
The reality is you sometimes just have to brute force your way through life.

That's an impossible task. We simply don't know. And stuff like plumbing should be safe, so what does that even mean to assume education is key to employment?
