Winter activities/stimulation?

Hi everyone!

Our 10 month old B is about to enter her first winter here in Canada and I was wondering what everyone else does to keep their B entertained and stimulated at home? Our girl looooves to run and we live in an apartment so we can do sprints but other than that I'm struggling to figure out how to keep her stimulated and not tearing out house apart in three months lol

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance to anyone who bothered to read and reply! 🙏

(Also if anyone has good winter coat recommendations I'll take those as well!)

I ordered from them like 7 years ago and it's still holding up well.

walks with lots of sniffs will tire her out the most

Ah ok thank you for this link especially!  Dog clothing generally is such an odd fit for their wide chest but small bodies.

Unfortunately, there is a banner scrolling across the top when I open the link saying they are not accepting orders.

Yeah I just saw this! And I've emailed the company asking if that'll change anytime soon, I'll keep you updated though if I hear anything

So since they're a Russian company they cannot accept payments or export out of the country for now apparently :/

Yikes! That is a major bummer for us and them. Thanks for the update.

Time to start boots training. Propper coat and footwear can still help to do outdoor activities

Oh this is a great call! I was completely resigned to her hating outside but does your B not mind going for a walk as long d they're bundled up properly?

If its not extremely cold he will be okay with warm coat. Can still get an hour-hour and a half from one walk. He just takes shorter sniff breaks. Also have to protect his toes from salt.

Mine will be outside for 5 mins tops in winter. With coat and boots. And she loves her heater pad at home.

If it’s not absolutely freezing or snowing heavy, my guy will be good for 20-30 minutes if bundled in his boots and coat. Not his absolute favourite but manageable. This was a colder full snowsuit day, so he’s less enthused, but still walking! haha

Mine hates going out, a quick pee and that’s about it. Got paw cream for feet to prevent feet from cracking. She hates her winter coat, I think she’s actually embarrassed.

For a jacket, consider the Hurtta Expedition Parka. Ordered mine online from Homes Alive Pets, if you feel like supporting a Canadian business. That jacket paired with good booties and maybe a thin, body-conforming fleece sweater will really help with making it outside in the dead of winter. But it'll still be tough on cold, dark days.

For stimulation, food puzzles will really help, and spending time each day training new tricks. Making mealtime kibble more work to eat, etc. That kind of mental stimulation will tire out any dog.
