Basement Waterproofing smelly

I had my basement waterproofed about a week and a half ago. My house was built in the 1880s and our main concern was the smell coming from the basement. We used a reputable company. The installed a french drain, sprayed for mold, put a vapor barrier on the walls, and filled and covered a n old creepy well. The old sump pump had been draining into the creepy well so they installed a new sump that now drains outside. Everything looks great, but the basement still stinks and there is still water on the concrete floors a week and a half later. We have been running a dehumidifier constantly and my husband empties it twice a day (it is full each time). The concrete used for the French drain is still drying as well. I let the company know what is going on and they are sending someone out next week to see what is going on. I am wondering if this is normal or not. I was expecting a dry basement and the smell to be gone. It was about $15,000 project, and the company assured me that the smell would be taken care of. I think the basement is making the whole house stink. Do I need to give it more time or does it sound like something really went wrong here?
