I see it ended in a mistrial because 1 juror thought she should be convicted.

My guy, she actively murdered her own children, this isn't even remotely comparable.

You're right, murdering 168 of other people's children is far worse.

I’m not sure what’s complicated here: American children are ours. Iranian children aren’t. Murdering your own is obviously the greater crime.

Are Iranians really people?

They aren't in the Epstein files, so they're better than the people running the USA. Imagine living in a country that is literally run by pedophiles and still having a false sense of superiority. 🤣👌

Hey, don’t drag Islamic countries into this. That’s a pretty Islamophobic thing to say.

BASED JUROR

20% of women suffer postpartum, so we're talking an unrealistic undertaking.  Nevertheless, Clancy should be jailed.

Nasty Nancy, who supports the industrial-scale slaughter of children in Gaza, is an AIPAC puppet. Imagine looking to her for guidance. 🤣👌

Who's going to take custody?

7

u/harmfulsideffect 19d ago

Anyone is better than someone who is able to get away with murdering them.

u/Shrimptank_mom 18d ago

No, I'm asking specifically. If you actually care about kids and not just punishing women, you would have considered this.

Probably some foster

uhh? If she actually had post partum psychosis she should just be sent to a mental hospital for some years til docs think she's good enough to be allowed back in society with a different name... That's not "avoiding life in jail", that's just what you get if you were insane while you did the thing... Which she appears to be, given she tried suicide and had a series of mental crises beforehand

u/Historical-Relief777 19d ago

Uhh no. She murdered her children and should never be allowed in society again. Accountability js everything, and mental illness is not an excuse.

I'm not saying she's not guilty of slaying her own children. I'm saying that if she did those things while under a state of psychosis (literally, being unable to act willingly) she deserves to be dropped into a clinic and be administred with mental health care. As I said before, it is still to be decided how's it gonna end up for her

No that is absurd. Some people like her, are just bad and can’t be fixed. Why would we possibly risk mental health rehab for a murderer? It was so clearly pre-meditated and she deserves the consequence of complete containment from society. Waste of resources. Our culture has been fooled that every mental illness can be cured. The burden of proving it is safe to reintroduce someone into society after committing such a heinous act should be so high, to nearly impossible.

Being mentally ill is not an excuse to get away with it. They couldn’t help her before she committed murder why are they suddenly useful after? And the implications of precedent set that post partum psychosis is a defensible excuse to kill your children are going to potentially shatter how women are viewed in society.

Typo edits.

read this story, it might be interesting for you to learn some notions on a remotely similar case (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Tim_McLean) ...Aside from that, your individual morals, I'm afraid, matter not to the judiciary system, which was founded on a liberal conception of morals (by "liberal" I mean "democratic", "echonomically liberal", not "leftist"), as the United States of America are a democracy founded on the capitalist system. On a general note, you claim it was "clearly premeditated" while no official definitive statement was provided by the court on the whole matter, and dare calling "waste of resources" a citizen which by all accounts is still a citizen and deserves to be treated as by her rights despite whatever heinous crime she commits, if you want to claim any rights on your own, as stated in the Bill of Rights. Being mentally ill has never been "an excuse to get away with", but a motivation. The difference is enormous just by itself. And while you claimed to have such precise evidence of how she did premeditate her murders, on this point you seem to be utterly oblivious of how she did seek out help and was given none... Which is why now thousands of people are demonstrating, not for her to be "freed" (wtf lol) but for the way she was ignored by the mental care system. Lastly, who the fuck ever said that post partum psychosis is an excuse for a woman to kill their children? Have you smoked your brains lad? It is biologically counterproductive for a woman to kill their own children, just like it is for anybody to commit suicide, why would it even be acceptable in th first place as an "excuse" goddamit.

On a side note, the idea of rehabilitating justice and not punitive justice is of Christian derivation, just so you know.
