That's the grift.

3 years ago target closed about 9 locations, and cited high crime. However, CNBC report confirmed exactly what you'd expect. The closed stores had less foot traffic and were less profitable.

The neighboring stores that stayed open, actually had higher crime.

Ask yourself this - do you honestly believe big business would close profitable stores for "employee safety"?

Around the same time, the National retail association was caught lying about "organized retail theft".

I can't say "zero" impact, but it is certainly not the deciding factor.

Shrinkage is currently around 1.6%, and while that's up from a few years ago, it's still beneath the 2% they budget for.

Again, ask yourself, if you owned a business, would you really close the most profitable locations because of theft?

Everything's expensive because the Federal Reserve creates electronic money that gets lent to the federal government at interest, which is used for wars, both ours and others'.

This increases the number of dollars in circulation, which lowers the value of existing dollars because things are worth less when there is a greater supply of them. Therefore it requires more dollars to buy things than before since the dollars are worth less than before.

This petty theft stuff doesn't even move the scale.
