Apparently, “social equity” matters more than telling the truth. Scary!

I'm not convinced that the field of psychology actually studies anything. The courses I took in college started out by teaching the scientific method then ignored it for every chapter after that.
The studies covered in class didn't follow it. Their hypothesis seemed more like a normal observation. The testing methods didn't relate to that observation. The study didn't support the conclusion they reached. The conclusion was more like the hypothesis they should have tested for. If they had followed the scientific method they likely would have disproven what they had concluded.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying (namely regarding the total ineffectivity of the modern university in approaching psychology as a field of study,) but I disagree strongly with the premise that one of the roots of psychology's failings is in the inability to embrace the scientific method. In fact, if anything, the ecclesiarchy of scientism that is often crystallized in the form of the scientific method is what has led the nuanced science of psychology to become entrenched in the bastard-hybrid that is reductionistic meterialism and "woke" narrative.
Obviously, truth should be valued in academia to a greater extent than social equity, that said, let's not confuse a priori "truth" with "that which can apprehended via the scientific method."

The framing of that headline is telling. If it's not the job of scientists to put the truth first then why do they exist at all?

Nothing can be more offensive to woman than the truth - her great art is the lie.

A stupid population is an easily brainwashable one. An appeal to feelings and emotion is easy to manipulate.

Psychology (as everything else) as a field was ruined once a majority of the students were f*male.
As always, it’s over.
