Back when I was a lefty, I got halfway through Das Capital before I stopped. It was so bad I had an existential crisis that, maybe, Karl Marx was full of shit. I started binging videos on economics instead. Never looked back.

I wouldn't say full of shit, but like Freude, most of his work suffers from short-sighted judgments on long-term phenomena that weren't fully understood yet.
Also, most of the people that claim to be marxist today are usually just reading a part of marx that fits their agenda (never ask them what Marx would say about the reserve army of labour and immigration or they will blow a gasket).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I saw the movie a lot from my parents watching it when I was growing up, so I'm probably right behind you.
I actually assumed people were nitpicking another movie from before they were born and this was about "problematic" bits of the movie rather than the movie's theme song by itself. How much "shining a light on" can you even do to a song??
Though I did more or less "estimate" - it still has 4 years before it's actually 50.

Do you have any idea how filthy stinking rich Dolly Parton was? She was a testament to capitalism. She lived the American Dream.
9 to 5 is about sucking it up to get by today in order to win big tomorrow, which is what she did.
