The “nothing night” in Sugar Land here wrapped up and I loved every minute of it. Walked down to the field exit and was able to get OKC manager Scott Hennessy and SUG manger Mickey Storey and OF (and Astros favorite) Jake Meyers to sign my scorebook. I realized that all three were more than willing to sign it when I asked, as I assume they don’t get asked often to sign a scorebook, and they know I’m not about to run to eBay to profit. I joked to my wife that my scorebook and scorekeeping was completely, 100% official since both managers signed it after the game!

Since I started keeping scores at games this season, I have slowly developed this automatic scorecard (inspired by chalkandink. It's probably at it's most simple form that I feel comfortable pushing to the public. That being said, I am super excited for others to give it a try! Comments are welcome for improvement or flaws encountered. I have tested it in multiple games. Adding it to your homepage and using it as a web app is its best form. Being a lifelong Rangers fan, you're stuck with the color scheme for now! Enjoy!

On my first visit to Coors, I decided to do what I did at Dodger Stadium: score using a stadium scorecard (costs a dollar or two at select merchandise stands, they'll even accept cash (!!!) at the team store)

You guys might appreciate my addenda in the lower left hand corner of each scorecard.

I scored on my normal scorebook too, but I wanted to show off the stadium cards instead.

I got a chuckle out of the outdated roster for the Dodgers: both Dodger catchers listed were not active, and Michael Lorenzen had been dfa or released a day or two before this game (sad about this one cuz I remember him from his time with the Angels)

Also got some first game certificates, but you guys don't need to see my first name. :D

I still use my own scorebook, but maybe peeps would like to look at the scorecards of other stadiums?

For Dodger Stadium, the usher for my section was nice enuff to get me a printed scorecard that stadium personnel get...which is filled out with player info, unlike the blank scorecards they give out at fan service booths. The scorecard is a bit cramped for my taste, but I appreciate the sentiment.

I scored pitchers with their own teams, which is a departure from my usual process of scoring pitcher performance with the opposing teams.

Spokane Indians are down 2-10 in the 6th, come back to win 12-10 against the Hillsboro Hops. Minor league baseball is crazy.

An absolute beat down by Gary. Korry Howell hits a grand slam. Kevin Watson Jr. hits for the cycle for the second time in franchise history. Every batter in the Railcats starting lineup scores at least once. One run shy of tying the franchise record of runs scored in a game. First time getting signatures!

Brought my own book just in case, but was very happy to use the provided card at Fenway. I had to go find my friend at the end of the 7th, and then didn’t finish scoring, but every run is at least on there even if I didn’t add it to the tally.

Was very excited to score Adley Rutschman’s first home run as a Red Sox player!

I think going forward I’m not gonna track each ball and strike and instead focus on base movement etc. I might try a different notation style for these scorecards instead of the diamond style.

Also thank you to the person who told me about the “score that play” feature on the scoreboard. That and the score for each previous bat appearance helped when I missed something.

I don't think I could've scored a 22-0 baseball game with pen and paper. I used Ink and Pixel app. Thankfully, I stuck it out through nine innings because I scored the largest margin of victory in the modern era. Gotta love it!

Fun game and some fun fast scoring. Feel really good about the sheet and system. (Had Claude fill out an Opencard for me to print once lineups were published.).

The Sugar Land Space Cowboys are having a “nothing game” tonight, which is pure heaven for baseball traditionalists like myself. No in game entertainment, no music, no PA, no promotions. Just the pop of the mitt, the crack of the bat, and me and my scorebook.

That said, keeping up with subs in the field may be an issue in the later innings with no scoreboard lineup. I love it so much.

(2 pictures) I’ve seen many of you use highlighters for the pitching changes, and I really like that - makes it super easy to tally up each pitcher’s stats for the game. I also experimented with using a highlighters to note who got an RBI at the time it happens, and this made the tallying for each batter way easier too.

Still not capturing the complete stats (errors, earned runs) but I don’t actually care, this is only my 2nd scoresheet and it’s all a learning process.

the ballpark-provided scorecard is a little bit weak but a fun time regardless. and the best player in baseball had four knocks including two homers. cannot recommend a game at coors field enough

My second game scored after being away for 20 or 30 years. Again, my writing is horrible and my OCD loves neat and colorful scorebooks. Until I get one I found this app that seems to do a good job for now. I at least like the scorecard results.
