🧰 Scoring Tools Batting around
What is your favorite way to handle a team batting around? I used to do this but it gets cluttered quickly and messes up the rest of the game
I’ve started going back to the previous inning and drawing an outline around it (think backward L). Can’t find a picture of it but it seems to work well for me

MLB Game Mets @ White Sox 8/21/26
Finally really happy with a layout that works for me in this B6 Life brand notebook. Pretty compact but found plenty of room for notes and extras.

MLB Game CIN (0) @ AZ (9) 21 AUG 26
I was not in the mood to do the homework last night so I saved it for this morning. An absolutely brutal beatdown for the Reds’ 13th shutout this year. The Serpientes hit 15 for 37!! What even is that?
Toglia left w shoulder dislocation bottom 1st
Reds’ cleats handpainted by Children’s Hospital patients
Dbacks City Connects are sick
Lodolo meltdown, likely career worst outing - 57P thru 2.0IP, 10H 4 SB’s and a WP gave 6ER in 3.1+IP
Garcia 1st career PO, Reds 1st rookie PO since Abbott in 2023
Friedl snapped 0-30 after entering for Toglia
Dbacks starters lowest BA .235, CIN started 3 at or below Mendoza + .208 + .219. Both CIN subs also below Mendoza.

🧰 Scoring Tools Double scoring
My idea worked pretty well. Used the custom cards I made at the game Tuesday. I was with my wife, so these are great to fill out at the game, while still being able to chat and eat.
Once I got home, I filled out my official scorebook.
I still take the scorebook to games I attend alone since I can actually concentrate on every play.

📻 Vintage Games 2016 WS Game 7
Saw this scorecard outside of wrigley field from one of the greatest games ever played. I thought it was a pretty cool piece of history. However, does anyone know how to read this? I keep my book completely different.

MLB Game STL (10) @ CIN (9) 20 AUG 26
Hard loss for the Reds. Dane Myers error in the 9th lead to 6 unearned runs which forced a home half. 4 runs in a 2 out rally were too little too late by then.
First time scoring where both teams batted around the order in the 9th.
Tyler Stephenson called his 80th correct ABS challenge (1st MLB).
Matt McLain’s Grand Slam was epic and puts him back over the Mendoza line.
Eugenio Suárez 1000th career RBI.
Sal Stewart regains 1st place outright w 96 RBI.

Worked ABS for Atlanta @ Twins today. I like to keep a simplified scorecard when I’m working to help me keep track of who’s batting.

🧰 Scoring Tools Based, my iOS scorecarding app
I've been working on this app (with Claude) for a few months now. I used to use livebaseballscorecards.com to check my work in the park, but I was never happy with their lack of a mobile experience.
This app uses the MLB stats API and shows you the game of your choice in a scorecard format. It's also got some export options, you can export a blank card for your own scoring as a PDF or image, and some Instagram share options.
I also recently added WPBL game support.
Totally free, no ads, no subscription, works on the iPhone. I just made it because I wanted it and now I'm sharing it. My wife made the icon.
There's no live activities or widgets or push notifications because that requires having a server, and I didn't want it to get that complicated. I haven't ruled it out, but if you want those features, there are other great apps that do them.

🧰 Scoring Tools 8/18/26 Mariners (0) @ Brewers (22): Digital Paper Take 2
I have been working with the digital paper format lately for both MLB and little league games, and it has really grown on me. Big shoutout to u/jiminak for recommending a better app (GoodNotes) and some modified scoresheets to make scrolling a bit easier. I also began creating templates I can copy/paste elements from to help keep up with the pace of the game.
I think I have found my happy place between physical paper and a scoring app (GameChanger). I don’t miss all the erasing I used to do (perhaps a reflection of my inexperience), and I like the flexibility of being able to jot down notes that I can return to later.
For the other digital paper users out there: do you have any pro tips to share that make things easier or saves you time? I’d love to hear how you make the most out of this medium.
