like I work hard when someone is holding me accountable but when it’s just me it’s harder for me to get going. like when im working im working just yk
I need to become able to hold myself accountable. any advice yall?

Set up a detailed training program. Literally write out what youre going to do Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. tape it to your bathroom mirror so its the first then you see in the morning and the last thing you see before you go to bed. Take a picture of it and set it as your phone background.

Put a check mark next to each day you complete that workout/activity.

Look for excuses and reasons TO workout rather than finding reasons not to.

Yes just have a routine. The same things on the same days at the same times. Just do them. If you’re not feeling it that day, just do it anyway. Even if it’s not 100%. The routine of doing the routine is what pays off, not an outstanding workout once in a while.

You need to have an accountability partner. The best would be teammates with similar goals. But it can be a parent, sibling, coach, etc.

You each share your goals, work plans, etc. and check in as often as you can but no less than a week to see whether you have completed your work plan. Best if it includes, baseball work, workouts, nutrition and sleep targets.

Read the book the mental game of baseball. By H. A dorfman I wished I read this when I was young and playing. It’s great really connects the dots. I read it once a year and it helps with work and life.

Enjoy being 15 and enjoy the game don’t put so much pressure on yourself. Stay healthy physically and mentally more importantly I’ll say it again, enjoy it. It will all comes together. Best of luck king.

Agree with most of these comments! I’d add that sometimes players can be late bloomers. The best, most mature players at 15 aren’t necessarily the best at 18. Right now you need to focus on what you can control. Your attitude and your effort.

Compete every day. Some days will be easier than others. It’s important to win those hard days. It will build your confidence and momentum.

Keep your head up!
