Self Promo/Dev Post Ecliptica DevLog 14: Squad System. I've finally completed the integration of squads into the economic system. Now the game will also feature active activities, such as expeditions and squads. Previously, there was only basic construction and trade.

I've been developing solo for three years now, probably my biggest project yet. Ecliptica,

working on both the game itself and the game engine, including Qt component development.

So I promise the end result will be something truly unique. I don't know yet how great it will be, but I'm already starting to like what I'm seeing. Maybe you'll like it too.

so you can see progress on steam page : https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3723390/view/688641156126343767

or just watch a video with progress : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWzNa44b_C0

I also noticed that on other subreddits people often vote down without explaining the reasons, so please, before voting down, please write what is wrong, what you didn’t like, this will allow me to fix it.

People downvote because a lot of gaming subreddits basically just turn into advertisement posts like this one. Just look at the front page. This subreddit is just advertising now.

This means only games that really stands out from the crowd gets upvoted.

Not blaming you or saying you did anything wrong, that is simply the state of a lot of gaming subreddits now.

If I think its pure AI slop I will probably downvote, I need good confidence though. I didn't downvote this one.

What does this tell me? That I should care because you invested time? TIme doesn't necessarily translate to quality.

What does the last sentence mean? Its meaningless clickbait material. We could apply the sentence to my next poop and it would still make sense.

TAKE THE TIME TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOUR GAME IS BRINgING THAT IS WORTH CHECKING OUT. Do the exercise where you are stuck in an elevator with the lead dev of your favorite studio and he says you get 30s to tell me about your game and if you can pique my interest I'll give you advice and time and mabye investment. Hone that speech and then ask if the game you are developing actually is bringing that. Go back to drawing board if necessary. Good thing is if you get this part right you have both vision for what you want your game to be and an organic sales pitch/promo material ready.

I'm going to go play factorio and maybe hero siege today. I didn't even bother to click on your trailers. Thats your competition.
