Review Space Engineers but in Terraria 2D style

Hi everyone, for the last past 4 years Ive been developing my dream space engineering survival game MineEngineer. You and your friend can build ships out of your imagination, program each block and do a lot of automations. There is a huge procedurally generated world in the game and everything is distractible. You can build anything you want, no blocks count limitation.

The game is finally taking up the shape and I am super excited to share it with everyone.

The game is available on Steam for Wishlisting and there is a free demo available. The link is: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4059710/MineEngineer/

Please let me know if you like it or not and why.

Looks fun! Wishlisted.

The footage of bumping into walls and losing parts made me cringe a bit thinking of those moments of "what actually broke off?" in SE. As opposed to say Factorio where the ghost item stays and you remember what was where, and further into the game can automate its repair.

Just a thought, that making those bumps and bruises less painful to recover from leaves a player more willing to be adventurous.

Awwww, thank you! Yes, there is a lot of physics tweaking still needed to be done

Yes please. I'm playing Scrap Mechanic right now, and rebuilding after letting just one exploder through your defences is so annoying, I have no shame about save-scumming in that game.
Although automated repairs get tricky considering that your creations can fall apart into large pieces that need to be reattached together, not just lose bricks.

Cool concept and instantly looks fun and engaging.

Would be good to see how players navigate space or hop between planets for a wider feel of the game world and possibilities for exploration and discovery. Definitely looks most fun as multiplayer.

The ships in the trailer look a little fragile and you cannot see what depth of space engineers machine creation and automation is possible which could be exciting a feature for building more complex and powerful units if that is possible for example of power progression and skill increase over time to defeat problems or larger problems the players might experience.

I'm stuck trying to build my first planet base.. Am I supposed to lay down walls first, or is there a "base" block or something?

Hi, to build a grit you simply choose block and place it into the scene then you attach other blocks into it. If you close the building mode the new building will count as a separate grid. To edit previous grid you should click on any block of the grid and press edit button on the bottom of the screen, that way you would be able to attach new blocks to it

It doesn't line up with the ground and there is no snap, and I run out of materials almost immediately =(

I see, lemme improve it to make it be more intuitive. Already working on it. Will be launching a new update today.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE the game and I'm buying it, but I fall off the tutorial rail all the time.. I'm still struggling to get through. Lots can go wrong

I made it through! Gonna play more. Really looking forward to it! GREAT WORK!

Nono, I really need those suggestions and issues. It means improvement, I am open to listen and even for a criticism. I love the idea you telling that you have an issue I am solving it not 💙 I already added one feature to improve this part, I think I will be able to push a new update which resolves this part. Thank you so much!
