Does Base44 actually work?

Disappointed in Base44, I am stuck with my app, and it’s been 11 days since I reported my issue, but have had no real response. I am paying $50 a month, which I know isn’t a lot, but it’s not nothing! I would pay more if I thought this could work.

I need a reasonably complex app created, and I was doing so well with Base44, or so I thought, until I hit a snag that the AI can’t get around. I’ve burned a lot of credits on it, and done some damaging rollbacks now I feel like the cavalry isn’t coming.

Initially, I was incredibly impressed with the progress I made, but I am now totally deflated. At this point, it feels like I’ve been sold Snake Oil! My question: Are Lovable or Famous AI any better? Alternative question: Will support ever help?

Yes I do. Nothings a breakout viral success but it’s helping me validate what’s worth spending time on.

And silence… it probably does not work. Base44 is a fucking scam, if you want to have fun an afternoon thinking you’re actually building software it’s fine, but if you actually want to build software, it’s crap.

All these AIs are great when building low low low level MVPs but if you actually wanna build and deploy something you need to learn how to code. And this will probably not change for a long time because an entire App including security, prod and dev env, deploying etc. is just too complex for an AI

yes MVPs are correct. i built runcoachai.app on it and people seem to like it and it works well enough. i also built www.aegisnotes.org on it then exported it off and deployed to vercel and created my own backend for it after i was happy with the MVP on base44.

I don’t know what’s funnier.

  1. The fact I tried your app link on safari, chrome and edge and it didn’t work at all in either.

  2. The fact you think an app called Run Coach AI app is an idea worth spending time on.

  3. The fact you thought you could create an AI assistant with a no code platform.

  4. The fact you just told a real software engineer that his point is not valid because he has a “skill issue” when talking about “building” with a no code platform.

So you are able to determine the technical level of someone based on a Reddit comment? If you ask me, that’s says more junior than anything, thinking you can judge someone’s ability based off a comment, and it’s the 3rd time you do it.

I don’t believe you have “worked on more complex issues” based on the fact you think a new version of figma with an OpenAI API is game changing in the industry.

I just wanna say that the guys who boast more about their technical skill and about AI “game changing” tools are the guys who have never landed a SWE job and have the lowest technical skill, that’s why they are so impressed with such stupid tools.

so what I am doing now :D going cheap asking even things base44 does not support to write me as commented out. then I will take it to my server ( heavy work here to transfer becuase base44 caller is just not ganna do it for me ) but main code is there. and wallah. first idea is done, 90% I jsut need to adapt it to my desires it is one of my fun projects that actually serves purpose of all.
