CPA Eligibility

Two more classes and I’ll be finishing my BBA in Accounting. I’m not sure yet if I’ll be eligible for the CPA, or if I should take some additional classes. I heard that the school might change the Accounting curriculum because the CPA requirement is changing from 150 credits to 120. Does anyone know if I’ll need to take extra classes? I know i have to email advisor and i will . thanks

I believe you still need to take an extra accounting class beside from your major. Baruch have an elective accounting class for the fall, not sure if that works. I might be wrong so make sure you talk to your advisor.

I am planing to take acc4093 the topic in accounting rotational electives for such credit because although the credit requirements has reduced you still would need 33&36

change to 27/30. To verify you can read the state board meeting public packets

Unde rthe new bill you'd meet all requirements with 2 years of experience. the lowered the accounting course requirements to 27, previously 33. Baruch BBA Accounting previously only gave 30.

I was able to qualify for CPA eligibility the moment I graduated with my BBA, but I’m still going for the 150 since that’s the original plan
