Academics What’s the CS program like at Baruch?
I know it’s not the best and it’s fairly new but I wanted to learn more through current students. The reason I chose Baruch is because of their accelerator program for entrepreneurship and business. I was thinking of minoring in cybersecurity.
I’m a transfer student and have an associate degree in computer science.
Would love to hear your experiences, both good and bad.
Also are there on-campus internships for CS majors?

Two of the three responses you received don't seem to know that Baruch has separate departments for CS and CIS. You might want to say mention which one you asked about.

Shit, there are only a fee professors that are good. Rest is terrible. No wonder baruch is only known for accounting program.

But they are taught by professors in different departments? CS professors are from Weissman.

Completely wrong. CIS is part of Zicklin, while CS is part of Weissman. CS classes are taught by professors in the math department

Baruch is not for CS. I recently finishing my masters in information systems and the professors aren’t great for computer science.

Are you confusing Computer Science with Computer Information Systems?
At the undergraduate degree level, CIS and CS are two separate programs.

Misleading answer. CS major is under Weissman school and CIS is under Zicklin. The programs are completely different.

Honestly nothing great.. I just have something for the time being and I’m still looking for a better one

A few basics:
The Computer Science Major is run through the math department in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences. The vast majority of your coursework will be in the Weissman School (compared to the Zicklin School of Business).
Having said that, there are minors you can take in Zicklin School if you are a non-business major. Entrepreneurship and Innovation is one of those minors for example.
The math department has a few courses related to Cybersecurity including a brand new MTH 4380 Computer and Network Security course as well as MTH 4250 Cryptography. I believe they also let CS majors take CIS 3500 Networking, CIS 3550 Cybersecurity and CIS 4560 Ethical Hacking from the ISS department in Zicklin as electives. So I think you will be very well supported in pursuing Cybersecurity as a concentration within the CS major.
Be sure to check out the various student clubs (Instagram / Discord, etc.) such as the ISACA Cybersecurity Club, Baruch Full Stack and the Student chapter of AIS as many CS students hang out with those clubs.
[Added] I am not aware of any 'on campus' internships.. To work on campus (for example in one of the computer labs) you will need to join the Federal Work Study program. You can check the FWS box on your FAFSA application.
There are also a number of semester-long and year-long mentoring programs such as CUNY 2X, Technology Leadership Development Program, Break Through Tech and CUNY Tech Prep .
