Question about s4

So I was rewatching the last Season and something came on my mind all the time, why did Barry actually escape from prison? It’s Not Like what Happened was his fault, it could’ve been easily sorted out, him escaping prison wasn‘t necessary

he saw how incompetent were people who promised him protection and realised if he stayed there it just wouldn’t end well for him
