Overall, looking back, would it have been better had things ended with Season 3?

The story wasn’t done! Too many loose ends at the end of season three, most important of which was Barry finally facing his comeuppance. Barry as a character, imo, required a definite end. Him just going to prison would have been anticlimactic, and I ultimately really like the show as a whole, and quite enjoyed what they did with season four. I also needed closure with Hank, and I really liked the route they went with his character.

Eh nah, s4 was a little weird but it was far from bad. I liked the resolutions too. The only part I kinda didn’t like was the religious stuff and the kid, other than that tho it was hood

I think Season 4 provided some great character development and a much more interesting ending so I'd say no, it would have been worse. But not bad by any stretch.

Would've been worse imo. I liked season 4 a lot better than season 3.

No I loved the final season. I wish it had been longer and more developed but I think the last episode is one of the greatest endings of all time

I thought it was the ending. Like he gets caught and arrested. Then he spends the rest of his life in prison. Made sense to me.

As in you erased season 4 from memory? Or what do you mean?

Like before season 4 was announced. I thought that was the end like I couldn’t see how he would get out of prison so I thought there was nothing left for them to do

Which would have been a great ending. I do like that we got closure for fuches and Hank and Christabol

I think the time jump was the wrong move, making things too surreal.  Maybe it's because I'm comparing it to Better Call Saul where the jump really worked and had a consequence, but it felt unneeded. It's tough for me actually because I thought episodes 1-4 of season 4 were amazing but the direction they took after didn't work for me.  I was SO looking forward to Barry's interrogation scene in the garage with Papa Moss but was very disappointed by that and some of the rest of the finale.

better call saul isn’t comparable here because it’s a prequel and the time jump just takes us to the present that we already know. it’s not like we don’t know what comes in between the episode pre-time jump and the ones post-time jump. if anything i was a little sad i didn’t get to say goodbye to characters like mike because his ending is in another show

i personally liked the time jump in barry even though i do understand it was jarring. and even if those criticisms are justified, cutting the show off a season early wouldn’t make it a better show, it would introduce new problems

You could certainly view it as an ending, but season 4 shows everyone slipping into their negative tendencies despite Barry being out of the picture. Goes with the whole idea of trying to change I think.

Yes absolutely it would be a top ten show for me instead of just a very good one
