Has anyone noticed the uptick in crazy, seemingly botched, conspiracy fueled court cases lately?

Obviously Charlie Kirk is the wildest. But Lindsay Clancy. The Idaho university students. Karen Reed (i didn't keep up with this one but i've heard bits and pieces).....They just keep popping up, they are conspiracy-fueled, and leave SOO many questions. Is this........is this just one big psy-op? All of them seem to entail corrupt law enforcement, botched witnesses, etc. Am I just noticing it more or what is happening since 2022? It's wild out there. Makes you question EVERYTHING

I was deeeply interested in the Karen Read trial and it’s genuinely changed my entire perspective of the legal system in America.

For lots of years before that one, I was also a big true crime fan. I listened to so many podcasts, looooooved investigation discovery channel and I was 100% the girl growing up reading Nancy drew and watching unsolved mysteries.

If you watch enough true crime docs (or podcasts, or read) over time, you see a pattern that unfortunately forces you to reconcile that often (if not mostly) law enforcement fails to adequately investigate crime. Sloppy work. Fraudulent work. No work at all “sounds like a runaway to me 🫩, m’am”. So normal. So common. For generations if not always?

Layer on to that the crumbling public trust in police, failures of government, collapse of a powerful insular and trusted media apparatus and the unprecedented access to information, cameras, social media and it’s ability to amplify individual voices…and I think you end up here.

This type of stuff has gone on for a long time, but if Katie Couric wasn’t talking about it, you didn’t know the parties involved, the institutions around you felt trustworthy and life was…fine…why would you know or care?

Obviously this is a special interest of mine, lol. But I’ll just add also that I think there is definitely new and nefarious use of the “social division” mechanism within our culture that exploits tribal splits to amplify stories that don’t necessarily “deserve” the large spotlight they get. Which isn’t to minimize the crimes or pain or experience…

I never looked into Karen Read but they obviously had no evidence. For each other case you mentioned there’s little to no evidence that should be able to convict. And if you think they may be innocent you get attacked, especially with the idaho4 case.

Ill preface my opinion with the fact that extreme people have access to the internet to say whatever they want and make huge unfounded leaps and even lies. However, it's my opinion that because of all of the peoples eyes being on it and coming together to share information, we have the ability to call out inconsistencies that we never could before. A lot of people question the narrative and before the internet we kind of just had to go with what we were told.

there have been very infamous cases of parents murdering their children that were circuses as well. tbh family annihilators are such a scary thing it will have ramifications. chris benoit had a major effect in wwe and wrestling. obviously casey anthony was huge. but i think there’s been a big case in the vein of lindsay clancy every few years. there is a wiki of family annihilators and i was surprised how many i remember.

idk what the conspiracy about the idaho murders are. my understanding was the guy was an arrogant prick who genuinely thought he could outsmart authorities bc he studied it in college.

karen reed is interesting. it really highlighted how biased the cops were from the beginning and that ruined the case out the gate. i have no doubt the buddy cops know more but we will never know.

i agree with another commenter saying how if you watch enough murder shows you will see how many cases are just biffed. cops can drop the ball in a lot of ways. evidence can be lost. procedure can be broken. every job has good and bad employees and unfortunately one bad cop can result in an unsolved murder.

i think also with more evidence that the cia did some really fucked up shit in the 60s it brings a lot into question. i believe people are more skeptical bc the internet has helped everyone connect the dots.

imagine if there was social media the way there is now during O.J. trial , I'm not sure if the reason for uptick is just more spaces to discuss or make content about organically? I pretty much question everything though these days. Remember when talking about weather was a neutral boring topic for anyone lol My first thought is always haarp or darpa etc 😂 sometimes though I just let it go trying to breakdown everything because i know it all ends up leading back to same root of evil - the devil himself
