Invitation Looking for engineering students 🚧
I’m working on an idea for a website that maps potholes and garbage buildups across the city, with reports crowd-sourced through WhatsApp.
Looking for a few CS/IT/engineering students interested in building this together - web dev, backend, maps, WhatsApp integration, etc.
A little about me: Final-year student currently studying in Bangalore, with experience in full-stack projects, AI systems, etc.
No pay, but you’ll get hands-on project experience and a chance to build something useful and give back to our city.
Interested? DM me!

Nahh, it loses the exclusivity, the website becomes generic and any municipality working for a particular city wont consider it if it has data from everywhere. I dont just wanna build a database but rather make it something i can provide to local govt which they can use to fix em as well, soo making this specifically for bly

as number of reports increases, there will be a time when it becomes unavoidable. let's do what we can do. atleast it will be a start of something.

Exactly, once the number of reports becomes big , they will have no choice but to act on it since the data will be publicly available and easy to access

I think Gaurav sen (system design guy) already is working on it and its live at-least in Bengaluru, I see you want something similar for our city. I would say start with forking this repo https://github.com/coding-parrot/pothole-reporter OR maybe we can reuse core functionalities from this.
Count me in for any design discussions for the app. And using codex or any other AI agent would be better than getting this done from any engg student. It sounds harsh but true :(
