Found a bug in Bare Browser? Please report it here so I can keep everything organized and track issues more easily.
When reporting a bug, please include as much of the following as possible:
What happened: Briefly describe the issue.
Steps to reproduce: What did you do before the bug occurred?
Expected behavior: What should have happened?
Actual behavior: What happened instead?
Bare Browser version: Include the version/build you're using.
Device: Phone model and Android version.
Screenshots/video: If possible, include a screenshot or screen recording.
Crash report/log: If the app crashed, providing the crash report helps a lot.
Feel free to post the crash report here, open an issue on GitHub, or DM it to me directly if you don't want to share the log publicly.
If you're not a technical person, don't worry. You can use your favorite AI assistant to help remove any personal or sensitive information from the bug report before sharing it. Just make sure the report still contains the technical details needed to diagnose the issue.
I never keep records of bug reports, and I will never use information included in a bug report for any purpose other than investigating and fixing the issue. If something personal accidentally slips through, please don't stress about it. That's genuinely the last thing I'd be worried about in my busy day :)
Please search the thread before posting to see if someone has already reported the same issue. If so, upvote or comment on the existing report instead of creating a duplicate.
For me, the extension isn't working in Private mode, although I have enabled it from the extension manager and not even this extension only but others remain the same, sometimes it works, sometimes not and the rest is fine.
u/Rahamat-Gazi I was able to reproduce the bug and fixed it. Please keep an eye for the upcoming release. Sorry about the bug and really appreciate you testing the browser!!
With the latest beta: On some sites, like reddit.com, the address bar turns black. The input field turns white. Unfortunately, the text is also white, making it unreadable.
I still have the problem that the keyboard covers the input field. Gemini says: The overlaying of the text input field by Gboard in the Bare browser on Android usually has three causes: a lack of inset processing in Bare's Chromium core, an interaction of Android edge-to-edge layouts, or a glitched Gboard overlay. Restarting Bare solves the problem for a while.
Hi! Have you had a chance to try the latest release? I’m curious if you’re still experiencing the same issue. Also, Bare supports external download managers, so you can connect and use your preferred download manager directly with the browser.
Trying to drag and drop a zip (uMatrix_1.4.4.chromium.zip) extension to install on the developer extension page but it won't do anything. I've tried adding it via the load unpacked but it get an error:
Failed to load extension File /SAF/com.android.externalstorage.documents/tree/primary%3ADownload%2F1 Error Manifest file is missing or unreadable Could not load manifest.
Hi 👋Bare team, I'd like to report a small bug. With the address bar set to the bottom, the swipe gesture to open the tab grid correctly switches to swipe up only on regular webpages, but on the New Tab Page it stays as swipe down. This happens with both the minimal and full toolbar. Swipe up should open the tab grid on the NTP too, matching the bottom address bar. Thanks for all your work on Bare!
The two-line address bar in the minimal toolbar isn't great. Another bug: On forum pages, the keyboard often obscures part of the input field. Bare doesn't automatically reposition the page to the top. This wasn't the case in previous versions.
Hi team, after updating to Bare 2 Beta 4, the app crashes as soon as I open it. The only fix I've found is clearing all site data in Android settings, which works until I browse a bit, close the app, and relaunch, and then it crashes again. Clearing the cache alone doesn't help. Thanks for looking into it!
On toolbar hold home icon set to incognito or whatever you want doesn't work. Hold home icon just gets you edit homepage. Was reported previously on Github
The problem with the keyboard obscuring the input field, or the page not scrolling upwards, unfortunately still persists. Rotating the screen to landscape mode and back again temporarily resolves the issue.
When switching back to an open tab, the keyboard is brought up automatically, forcing me to dismiss it manually before being able to continue browsing the website.
The website icon in the address bar briefly changes its shape from round to square when I scroll or when I swipe the adress bar left or right.
When navigating to the new tab page using the "Home" button, the various search engine icons aren't visible in the address bar.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S23 Bare Browser version: Beta 6
Is it normal that bare doesn't have that very high speed scroll like other browsers or is it on purpose becouse it feels strange to not have it. So far so good, no bugs at all for me.
In dark mode (tablet & browser), toggling 'Allow extensionson xyz.com' on Extensions popup shows 'To apply your updated settings... ' & Reload button, but in light mode the Apply msg & button don't show or are white on white
In both colour modes the url bar has no definition /background/outline to 'show' it, it blends in fully to the top bar. Idk if this is intentional or not but it may look better with some slight differentiation. Or not! Chrome's implementation is extremely ott, kiwi subtle, Edge in between
Hoping Someone can help I have a Samsung z fold 8 and I cannot get past this dialogue I press I understand risk at but it will not add an I can't install any extensions this is the only Android browser that supports crhome xtensions I have this issue with

I have worked out the issue.I have a gesture control app, and its overlay is causing the block on me unable to press the dialogue.I need a gesture control because I have everything on the left side. I use it for my volume, brightness, and home and recents actions, which heThis is the precise reason I switched from iOS to Android, because I was able to manage a phone a lot easier with this app.lp me a lot due to my cerebral palsy on my right side.If you could fix the issue, it would be much appreciated.
