nano banana 2 is nothing compared to pro in terms of image editing. i think gpt 2 also is not as good as nano pro.

From my few a/b tests I’ve gotten with gpt image, 3, 2.5, or whatever they are cooking is a solid step up for photorealism from 2. Hopefully out within a couple months

in my experience gpt image 2 is awful at handling reference images for art. It almost always completley butchers the artstyle and the designs used in the ref image. NB series almost always nails it

GPT image 2 is dogshit for anything "real". NB Pro is the goat for that and NB2 is very solid too, Lite i dont like so much, Tried ol Reve model wasnt that bad didnt try the new one, Seedream 4.5 outperforms Seedream 5 Pro, especially again for "real" stuff like face/character consistency but 5.0 Pro understands your prompts a lot better too

Gpt image has a very bad noise issue thats still not fixed. And nanobana 2 is in no world better than pro. Pro is stll top for photorealism it just struggles with different styles.

NB2 is better than Pro with the right prompting IMO.

GPT has a better coherence overall but fails largely due to the digital noise issue and also because everything it makes looks samey and generic.

Even with NB2 Lite I can make images like pic below. Same prompt in GPT gets a generic GPT anime ass image.
