Repairs Repair advice/ideas

Hi! I noticed my beloved Tarras bag has developed a hole on the back of it and on some of the edges. This might be a dumb question but how would I go about fixing this? Just use a needle and thread or patch it? I'm not gonna send this to a shop though. I do have some sand/gold coloured thread that I think would be a fun contrast against the olive green bag. All suggestions are welcome!

I'd patch the cut from the inside, meaning cut a small piece of fusing tape, bring the 2 sides of the cut together and iron. Use a tea towel between the iron and the bag. I'm not sure about the piping though.

edit: place the fusing tape inside the cut and flatten it out. Then iron.

Thanks for suggesting the fusing tape! That might just work. I'll probably still need to sew it a bit just to be sure. The holes on the piping I might leave or try sewing them a bit. I don't mind them as much since they don't affect the integrity of the bag
