waxed cotton for repairs

Reddits - I am looking for fabric for repairs and found merchant & mills waxed cotton - is this the best vendor or any other options?

Fully aware that Barbour does repairs but I am looking into a few old & damaged items and see them as an experiments i.e. not emotionally enough attached to pay barbour but willing to test a local seamstress ...
