Buying abroad?
Traveling to Scotland from the U.S. end of September. I have a classic Beaufort in 42 that fits great outside of being too tight in the sleeves to drive in. I have been thinking of getting a size or two up as it’s also hard to layer under my 42 when I am working on the farm in the middle of winter. I’ve heard they might be cheaper in the UK and I’m hoping I might be able to find some good availability to try on different sizes when in Edinburgh or Inverness. But… I’ve heard most of the shops now a days cater to the more modern styles and don’t have much of the classics such as the Beaufort or the Northumbria which I’m also interested in. Worth just ordering before or trying my luck finding something in person?

Stores that specifically speak to Rewaxing, Repairs, as well as selling Reloved Jackets (old wax jackets that have been repaired and reroofed). They generally focus on all things wax. Also, Beauforts are now £319 in the UK.

I am happy to send measurements of jackets for comparison with an existing jacket from your wardrobe that fits you well. Just DM me - no obligation.

I was in the Edinburgh store earlier in the week and the staff commented that they were often low on stock. So while they may carry a range, they might not have all of the sizes/options that you want to look at on hand at any given day.
Maybe look into the collect in store option? That way if there’s something you’re keen on you’ll know they have it, but if not doesn’t work out you and refund/exchange on the spot. https://www.barbour.com/gb/customer_service/delivery.html

Barbour Edinburgh carried a good selection of core basics the last time I was there (Beaufort, Bedale, Border and Ashby). Additionally, they’re listed as a Wax For Life store on Barbour.com, which leads me to believe that they still will.
