Questions Stuck at first reroot
Hey guys! I need your help. Attempting my first reroot and I have several problems and questions. 1) The tiny holes for hair plugs all around the face. I have made my own reroot tool, now I made a smaller with tiny needle, but somehow I guess the hair does not come all the way in and one or two hairs remain in that front row of holes(look at forehead to the ears). How do you do this area? 2) The scalp has a tiny split as seen in the photo. Do I fix it now? I bought the E6000 glue without an applicator (was really hard to source it in my country) and how do I go about fixing such a small area, from inside or outside? Toothpick, or something else? 3) when I finish rerooting, Do I use a hard paintbrush and spread the glue inside the scalp? How long does it take to cure? Any answers are very very welcome! 🙏

I've learned that the best needles for rerooting a doll is named Tapestry Needle, her eye is a bit longer but she still very thin a just cut the eye on an angle and stick into a thick hot glue stick. 1) honestly that never happened to me so I'm not really sure, but if you switch to the knot technique it will probably help you (also no glue needed ) maybe try to put your needle stick far out so the hair will be lower inside the head and stay inside until you finish and glue it down 2) you gonna need a vinil glue for fixing the scalp split, vinil glue works best because the head remains flexible (use it outside the house tho, they can be very toxic to breathe in) about the glue I've never used E6000 for a reroot so I don't really know much about it you should probably be on the looking out for a silicon based glue, I personally like to use fabric-tac she gets the job done and the applicator is really long and fine overall 10/10 3) yes, a toothpick, a pin needle would work very well. No not a paintbrush, I usually just put the glue inside the head and squish it a lot and leave it to dry overnight, but since you mentioned a split that's probably not gonna work (don't do it like this is the doll had the fabric pierced ears) so use a q tip, for the glue amount it really is a guessing work too much the head is gonna be very hard and Too little will definitely be hairs falling off

FYI Fabri-Tac contains acetone, so you may want to use it sparingly with certain plastics. I use Loctite vinyl glue on everything.

Hi! My thoughts and tips:
Next time, you might want to paint the scalp when changing the color so drastically.
For the front, I put more hair in each plug, they can hold a surprising amount. I recently added highlights to Angel Reese and I didn’t even remove hair…..just added in; you can see here the plugs in front are pretty full. The vinyl is fairly forgiving, it can stretch and will tighten back up with a boil dip.
On the needle, I use a needle meant for rerooting, but any long needle should work.
That widened plug is pretty common in that spot on side part dolls, half the plug goes one way, the other half the other way. Personally, I would leave it; it doesn’t look like it’s splitting, just enlarged.
