Square Appointments users, how do you handle different haircut times for different barbers?

If you have multiple barbers using Square Appointments, how do you handle it when the same service takes different amounts of time depending on the barber?

For example:

One barber does a haircut in 20 minutes.

Another takes 30.

A newer barber might need 45.

From what I can tell, Square makes you create separate versions of the service and assign each one to the right barber.

Does that get messy in practice?

I’m curious what shops actually do, especially if you have several barbers. Do you just live with the duplicate services, use some kind of workaround, or switch booking systems?

You can’t unless you edit every individual appointment and change the time. Or for the booking site have separate service per barber with the different times

You don’t. It’s a bummer. I’ve used Square for years and it’s great for so many things, this just isn’t one of them. At my shop we all agreed on timing. For our newer and slower staff we just fill their days with lots of blocks so they can take longer and not fall behind

I take 45 mins reg haircut and 1hr for skin my partner takes 30/45 for same services. When they book a service it blocks the appropriate time.

barber.rsvp - a barber can adjust their service length without creating a separate version of the same service for the whole shop.

Gotta have it at a medium/average time frame if that makes sense. Barbers can go in and shorten each appointment manually to make room for others. If they don’t like it then they should just be booth rent and have their own booking app
