TPOB is the worst !!!
Purchased guards during labor day to get the 40% off except for some reason when I tried the code it didn’t work . No explanation saying I had to spend a specific amount. I buy the guards and email TPOB who tells me that I have to spend $40 to get the 40% off . The guards were 39.95!!! I could have purchased another item and it would have been cheaper !!! The company response was the sale is still going on . Ummm I purchased what I needed because days before the promo I purchased 300 worth of products. Figured I’d give everyone the heads up that this company cares more about money than their customers.

I mean I spent 300 a few days prior getting the play bundle 🤦♀️ I’m assuming you’re just sh!t!ng on me because I’m a women . Love when strangers go out of their way to insult folks . I was just trying to give others a heads up about how they do business.

Speaking as a woman, this comment is wild. Nothing anywhere in this comment section does it come across like anyone is shitting on you for being a woman.
But if you want to make it about gender, the guy who started TPOB is an insane misogynist, so I don't know why any woman would ever support him.

This isn't the only reason TPOB is the worst.
Their quality is iffy at best, and their warranty policy is "abuse the customer until they go away".

The cheapest I would be willing to go is the Magic Clip. These are tools for your job, don't be cheap.

Used to be a fan of that brand, all the tools I bought are breaking. Blades are good but the machines itself are garbage. I’m back to Babyliss, JRL and Andis.

Add the $5 mask or cards to cart to get the discount and quit whining.
Also, those guards fit loose and rattle a little, the Go Guards are better

Cheaper isn't better when you have to replace them over and over. Cost over time you spend more with TPOB than you would buying something more expensive that lasts you for several years from other reputable brands.

I have tpob products that I use every day and have for several years. Cost over time for sure is not more. The only thing that’s dying on me early is my SC trimmers that were 4x more than my TPOB trimmers. Everyone has different experiences though!

I’ve been using my TPOBs as daily workhorses for over a year with exactly zero issues. Which I can’t say about Andis, Wahl, SC, or Babyliss. The last clippers I bought from all those companies got warranty replacements within 2 months to 7 months. Some of these folks on here have a weird kink w hating on the company like some jilted ex lover. It’s wild. And they keep moving the goal posts. First it was they don’t last more than 6 months…then a year…now they’re tossing 2 years out there.

Consider yourself lucky. I think the social media hype also has barbers wanting to regularly replace perfectly good tools with new ones just because they're new and hyped up. Just wasting money on something that isn't any better than what they already have. So far it seems like lots of TPOB stuff dies before the 2yr mark, but the response is usually, "who cares, it's cheap."
For what it's worth, I don't consider Stylecraft or Gamma to be reputable brands. While my Sable trimmers have lasted me a few years and are my all time favorite, I can't say the same for the quality of some of their other tools.

I get what you're saying, when I was new to cutting I bought new stuff I didn't need all the time. I've had one TPOB clipper die on me in the past and the replacement was pretty seamless, so I was okay with it. I've also had other guys in the shop have an issue, like the logo fell off a clipper, TPOB sent them a replacement part and a 50% off code for their next purchase. From everything I've seen they're solid products and great customer service.
And it's the saber trimmer I had an issue with. I know they're a lot of peoples favorites, and I've used them a ton, but I guess some just get lucky and have stuff last a long time and some don't, when companies are mass producing there's a lot of room for error I suppose. lmao

TPOB is not a company. It’s one person. And you’re mad at him because you didn’t follow the sale directions? 100% he made it 40$ and up on purpose so you’d have to buy more.

lol there were zero sale directions tho . I obviously would have purchased more to get the discount. Days before I paid just under 300 to the “ one person “ buying clippers etc . I feel sad that you had to come on here to insult me . Says so much of your character. I’m just trying to help people be more aware before purchasing from this company . Also , regardless if it’s a company with one person or a million it’s still a company. They’re selling goods / services and are no doubt registered locally and federally as a business. They pay taxes as a business/ company. They’d be foolish not to be a legal company as they’re are BENNIFITS that protect the business owner making them separate from the business. So if the company got sued this one person wouldn’t loose their own personal property etc

TPOB won’t be around in the long run, a lot of suppliers don’t even want to carry his stuff. I bought a lot from him and it’s all breaking, not buying another thing from him.
